Driftwood Whiskey Brand Identity & Packaging

A Whiskey Brand Shaped by the River

Driftwood Whiskey is inspired by the historic trade routes that once flowed along the Mississippi River. Just as driftwood travels through water and time, the brand reflects the idea of movement, heritage, and craftsmanship. The challenge was to design a visual identity and packaging system that captures the spirit of American whiskey culture while introducing a distinctive and memorable presence on the shelf. Through typography, illustration, and material exploration, the project translates the narrative of driftwood, river trade, and aging barrels into a refined packaging design.

About Project

Concept & Storytelling

The identity for Driftwood Whiskey is rooted in the idea of time, travel, and transformation. Driftwood, shaped by water, weather, and distance, became the central metaphor behind the brand.

Typography and graphic elements were designed to evoke traditional American whiskey labels while introducing a contemporary sense of clarity and balance. Subtle textures reference the materials and environments associated with barrel aging and river trade.

The goal was to create packaging that feels authentic and timeless while maintaining a distinctive visual character.

Packaging Design

Designing a Distinctive Shelf Presence

The final packaging balances storytelling and visual clarity, allowing the brand narrative to emerge naturally through the label design and material finishes.

Careful attention was given to typography hierarchy, label composition, and bottle form to ensure the product stands out both in retail environments and digital presentations.

The result is a whiskey brand identity that communicates heritage, craftsmanship, and a strong sense of place.
